So I still love football, but I spent most of yesterday actually reading. I figured that averaging 10 pages of reading a day was pretty lame, and I should get a move on getting through Cryptonomicon.

This book rocks. It really appeals to the nerd in me as well as to the other nerd in me. It’s the first book that I’ve read with an encyclopedia open next to me, and I have ended up reading MORE of the encyclopedia than the book I am ostensibly focusing on. Which encyclopedia do I have open? Why my laptop logged into Wikipedia, of course! Yay open source!

For all of you who don’t read this (i.e., everybody except Matt), I’m contemplating sending out a pre-holiday “what’s up” email detailing my life over the past 2 years. I know you’re waiting with bated breath, but humor me. Stay tuned.

So Thanksgiving was good. I ended up going with a co-worker and his wife to a family-type T-day dinner. I know some of you are scandalized by the thought that somebody doesn’t go home for Thanksgiving, but 7 years of being morally and academically obligated to be in the state of Georgia on the Saturday after Thanksgiving causes one to care not so much about going home for the whole 48 hours otherwise available, especially when 25-33% of that time is occupied by driving.

Football is about to start, but I may go back to reading.
